While modern conventional medicine focuses on the treatment of specific illnesses, CAM, including naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, and Oriental medicine, expands the therapeutic approaches available to each patient. The survey, which gathered information from more than 20,000 adults and nearly 10,000 children, found that about 40 percent of adults and 12 percent of children use some form of complementary and alternative medicine. Alternative medicine includes dietary supplements , megadose vitamins , herbal preparations, special teas, massage therapy, magnet therapy, and spiritual healing.
Provide evidence they have met the College’s requirements for training and standards of practice and are aware of any safety issues related to complementary and alternative medicine. Tell them to stop the witch hunts and persecution of the few doctors who challenge the status quo.
